Diario di un fotografo murettista. Capitolo 7/11 – 16^ Hill Climb Limanowa
Torno a battere sulla tastiera dopo un mese e mezzo di stop e di riposo, anche se un reale riposo non c’è. Si lo so che vi sono mancato anche siete troppo orgogliosi per ammetterlo.
In questo mese e mezzo ho avuto modo di partecipare e di vivere davvero una gara italiana ed ho visto qualcosa che non mi è piaciuto. Un ambiente teso, senza vita, fatto di piccoli gruppi autoreferenziali, fatto di presunzione, maleducazione, supponenza, guerre stupide ed inutili e vi dirò, l’ambiente dell’Europeo mi è mancato.
Già a Trento ho avuto la percezione di un declino, che la parabola ha preso la sua traiettoria discendente.
Fortunatamente, nello scorso weekend sono tornato a viaggiare, la settima tappa dell’ Europeo Montagna mi ha portato in Polonia, a Limanowa, la mia prima volta in questa gara che, ad essere sincero, ha provocato in me emozioni molto contrastanti e questa è una storia che parla proprio di contrasti, di differenze.
Questa volta il viaggio è stato comodo, un aereo mi ha portato fino a Cracovia, mi è mancato un pò guidare, vedere come cambia il paesaggio, come cambia l’architettura, come cambiano i paesi, le ambientazioni, le linee dell’orizzonte passando i confini delle varie nazioni.
La Polonia, o almeno questa zona all’estremo sud, è molto particolare, dove i contrasti sono presenti, importanti ed ho capito che i contrasti a volte ci dividono, a volte esaltano alcuni aspetti e a volte danno tante conferme.
La prima, forte sensazione di contrasto è iniziata dal paddock già dal venerdì. I “nostri” Nonostante vengano dai 4 angoli dell’Europa sono amichevoli, caciaroni, sempre pronti allo scherzo, cercano sempre quel poco di dialogo, il sorriso, la birra in compagnia e tutto questo cozza contro l’austerità e la marzialità del popolo polacco, molto tirato di sorrisi e di convenevoli e con il rischio, per alcuni, di risultare scorbutici ed anche antipatici.
In realtà ho trovato in loro una grande ospitalità, hanno, anche se ben nascosta, la voglia di far sentire tutti a casa loro ma non hanno i mezzi per dimostrarlo e questo a volte può lasciare interdetti, perchè hanno sempre questi musi lunghi, quasi infastiditi, non un sorriso, non un gesto amichevole ma sia chiaro, mai con maleducazione.
Forse il passato, quanto vissuto nell’ultimo secolo, ha segnato e modificato l’indole di un popolo che sembra sempre sul piede di guerra, che guarda con diffidenza, che difficilmente si espone, che aggredisce (non me) in alcuni casi quando si potrebbe solo parlare e risolvere con un sorriso.
Il sabato inizia la gara, con le solite prove ed il percorso sembra un’area militarizzata, con polizia in assetto anti sommossa, vigilanza privata a rendere tutto meno ospitale di quanto prima già non sembrava. Ammetto di essere stato intimorito, di aver avuto paura di muovermi, di fare un passo fuori dagli spazi designati. Ma nonostante tutto, nelle “press area” dedicate, a volte forzate come posizione, non si è lavorato malissimo ma volete mettere la soggezione di non poter fare un passo oltre le delimitazioni perchè due energumeni vestiti come Navy Seal ti guardano con aria minacciosa? Tutta questa austerità contrasta molto con il clima di festa che si dovrebbe provare ad una gara ma mi sono convinto che per loro sia un fatto culturale e caratteriale.
La domenica si conclude allo stesso modo, con un fiume di gente riversata sulle prime curve ed in allineamento, ma non ho sentito quel calore, quel trasporto provato finora nelle altre tappe.
Ma l’europeo è bello anche per questo tipo di contrasti.
Ora lascio a voi il compito di capire di quali contrasti parlo e a chi sono riferiti..
Posso dire che nel complesso la gara è molto bella, tosta, scivolosa, potrei quasi definirla la SPA Francorchamps delle salite europeee (da noi va di moda fare questi accostamenti no?) visti i saliscendi, le curve ad ampio raggio e veloci, i rettilinei da velocità molto sostenute. E’ curata nei minimi dettagli, ci sono commissari ad ogni postazione, ci sono bandiere ad ogni postazione, ci sono radio, gli spettatori non danno problemi di ordine pubblico ma soprattutto a Limanowa non pretendono di creare un campionato di Elite, per pochi eletti, ricchi o presunti tali.
Le loro vetture sono micidiali, curate, preparatissime e performanti e sono felici del loro lavoro nelle officine, delle evoluzioni, delle soluzioni studiate per tirare fuori qualche cavallo o un pò di inserimento in curva. Loro lasciano le auto ufficiali ad altri, loro ora sono probabilmente i migliori preparatori d’Europa.
Nella militarizzata gara di Limanowa la Polizia aiuta a far si che la gara si svolga senza intoppi, senza ritardi e senza interruzioni e per quanto possa intimorire o sembrare strano di certo non causa intoppi, ritardi o interruzioni.
A Limanowa se ne fottono dell’apparire, vogliono divertire e far divertire, a partire dallo speaker della diretta che incitava, sulle note della famosa canzone dei Lynyrd Skynyrd, a cantare “Sweet home Limanowa”. Il commento da quanto ho capito era molto popolare e poco tecnico/professionale come fa figo ultimamente. Certo, la risposta del pubblico è stata quasi imbarazzante, nessuno ha cantato ma ci hanno provato.
La premiazione? Una voce funerea chiamava i piloti a ricevere le coppe sul palco e questi, come i bambini del famoso video dei Pink Floyd, andavano sui gradini del podio. Non una goccia di champagne, nemmeno uno schizzo di acqua gasata per festeggiare.
Posso dire però che, nonostante tutto, è stato un bel weekend, fatto di adrenalina, velocità, chilometri camminati, belle prestazioni, un filo di ansia al cospetto dei mastodontici addetti alla security, un fine settimana dove i contrasti hanno diviso il mio modo di vivere le gare che differisce molto da quello polacco, hanno esaltato la cura maniacale con cui prendono cura di piloti, adatti ai lavori e pubblico e mi hanno dato conferme, di quanto grigio sia diventato da noi a dispetto dei “colori” che l’Italia può offrire.
Ah dimenticavo, la domenica pomeriggio, in attesa del requiem travestito da premiazione, al mio tavolo si sono seduti, tra gli altri amici, Christian Merli, Kevin Petit e Joseba Iraola che hanno scherzato, riso, fatto foto con i tifosi, firmato autografi ai bambini, commentato, raccontato vecchi aneddoti, si sono presi in giro con un clima da gita di fine anno.
I 3 piloti più veloci, d’Europa, i primi 3 di quasi tutti i podi europei fino ad ora allo stesso tavolo come vecchi compagni di classe…
Però ripensandoci, qui non si parla più di contrasti ma rispetto ad alcuni ambienti a noi noti, di fantascienza!!
